Candle care
A few habits keep every candle burning evenly, safely and for as long as it's meant to.
Before you light it
- Trim the wick to about 5mm.
- Place the candle on a heat-safe, level, stable surface.
- Keep it clear of drafts, curtains and anything flammable.
While it's burning
- Never leave a lit candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Burn in sessions of 2–4 hours for an even melt pool.
- Let the first burn run until wax melts to the edge of the container to prevent tunnelling.
Putting it out
- Use a wick dipper or snuffer rather than blowing, to avoid hot wax splatter and smoke.
- Let the candle cool fully before moving or relighting.
Storage
Store with the lid on, away from direct sunlight and heat, on a stable shelf.
